The crocheted flowers come from a table cloth at a friends’ home in Wandlitz, Germany. The dark circles are the circular glass tiles from Friedrichstadt Palast. The likelihood of these two elements ever coming together in real life is super low—but, yet, they do meet in Yuen's dynamic painting as “Unexpected Companions.”
